Packers' Romeo Doubs gets update on $3.4 million 'bargain' contract

The Green Bay Packers have benefited greatly this season from Romeo Doubs' emergence as a No. 1 wide receiver.

It just won't help them in contract negotiations.

Doubs is making $3.4 million this season, but he'll be a free agent at the end of the year.

And because of his play this season, Doubs has worked his way out of a bargain situation, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler .

"Green Bay could bring him back, but that might be a challenge this close to free agency," Fowler wrote. "He has played his way out of a bargain deal, serving as Green Bay's No. 1 receiver throughout the first 10 weeks. Though teams don't consider Doubs the type of field stretcher who must be double-teamed consistently
