The tight end position in the NFL was once considered only a security blanket, really, but nowadays, you have receivers with size who have blazing speed for said size and play like wide receivers. Some bigger-name tight ends would be off during Week 10, but names like Travis Kelce and Jake Ferguson are back for Week 11. Will another tight end emerge from the bottom of the depth chart this week and boost your fantasy team? Let's find out.
Start - Oronde Gadsden, Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers will play the Jaguars during Week 11, which will provide a positive outcome for implementing Gadsden at tight end on your fantasy team. The Jags have been less than stellar against the position. Although Gadsden is day-to-day with an injury, he will serve as TE1 in a favorable matchup.
Start - Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders
Speaking of security blankets, Commanders backup quarterback Marcus Mariota has relied heavily on the wily veteran, and threw 2 touchdown passes to Ertz against the Detroit Lions. The run game for Washington hasn't been there, and they are desperately trying to keep this team afloat for a Jayden Daniels return.
Start - Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
Andrews' production has been coming on lately. In the past two weeks, he has scored 3 touchdowns. A division battle with the Cleveland Browns means they will be trying to force the Ravens to run the ball more, meaning Baltimore can use other available tight ends to pick up a block on Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett.
Sit - David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
The Browns will play a Ravens team that has improved on defense and has been forcing a bunch of turnovers. Over the last three games, the Ravens have only allowed 10 receptions to tight ends for 95 yards. It isn't a great matchup for Njoku in Week 11.
Sit - Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs play the Bills in Week 11, and the Buffalo Bills have been very stingy to the tight end position, only having surrendered 12 catches over the span of four games. Although the Bills have been struggling in many different aspects, locking up the opposing tight end hasn't been one of them.
Sit - Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
It pains me to say this, but I do not feel comfortable playing LaPorta against the Philadelphia Eagles in primetime this week. The Eagles went through a stretch that saw them give up a bunch to the position, then a stretch where they allowed nothing to the tight end position. For some reason, this game feels like the latter.
