CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — A wrong-way driver in Calhoun County was stopped and taken to a hospital after it was determined they were having a medical emergency.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday on northbound I-69. Deputies received reports of a car traveling north in the southbound lanes.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle but were unsuccessful. They then deployed stop sticks and deflated all four tires on the vehicle, bringing it to a stop safely.
The 76-year-old driver was found to be experiencing a medical emergency and was disoriented.
They were taken to a hospital.
