The City of Emporia announced Wednesday morning that utility service shut-offs will resume on Monday, Nov. 17, following the recent full restoration of SNAP program funding in Kansas.
Utility service shutoffs were originally delayed due to the pausing of SNAP funding earlier this month. According to city staff, residents can use payment plans to continue paying outstanding bills while maintaining service. Those looking to set up a payment plan or request additional assistance can visit the Utility Billing Office at 104 East Fifth Avenue.
