Clinton Township’s feud with a well-known residential waste hauler has been resolved as the township has paid about $1.2 million it owed without going to court over the matter.

Township officials agreed to the figure last week and have since compensated Clinton Township-based Priority Waste.

“We’ve been paid in full,” company spokesman Matt Allen said Tuesday. “We’re happy to have been able to come to an agreement with the township to settle this matter.”

The Clinton Township Board of Trustees had been withholding billing money from Priority Waste for unresolved complaints from homeowners about lengthy delays with trash pickup service.
