TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A marked Tallahassee Police Department vehicle collided with a vehicle Tuesday afternoon while attempting to conduct a traffic stop, according to the police department.

The incident unfolded just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on North Monroe Street near the Interstate-10 exit ramp, TPD wrote in a press release Wednesday morning.

An officer, driving a marked TPD vehicle, was headed home from working Veteran’s Day events when he was traveling north on Monroe Street, approaching the westbound off-ramp of I-10, police said. The police department did not identify the officer in its press release.

Moments later, a vehicle traveling in front of the marked TPD vehicle “blatantly ran a red light and almost caused an accident,” the press release wrote.
