KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee Vice Chancellor and Athletics Director Danny White wants to make Neyland Stadium bigger and enact some big changes near the Cathedral of College Football to make it easier to get in and out.
White put up a lengthy post on X , formerly Twitter, Wednesday briefly outlining plans for expanding Neyland Stadium’s capacity after the university saw Nov. 29’s Vanderbilt game sell out— the 27th consecutive sold out game.
“We are actively exploring the viability of expanding the north end zone, which will allow us to welcome even more fans to Rocky Top,” White said.
The announcement comes after a lengthy period of renovations at Neyland Stadium, which saw its overall capacity decrease by about 500 seats.
