Russian drone strikes hit Kharkiv early Wednesday morning, injuring five people, according to local officials.
Russian forces launched at least three attacks on Ukraine's second-largest city, targeting the regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center and a logistics and transportation company.
The strikes damaged buildings and warehouse facilities, the State Emergency Service reported.
Five people were injured, with four hospitalized, and one receiving medical treatment at the scene, authorities said.
Russia launched its full-scale invasion of its neighbor almost four years ago and now occupies roughly one fifth of Ukrainian land.
New U.S. sanctions that take aim at Russia’s oil sector, which is the mainstay of the Russian economy, are due to come into force on November 21.
Their purpose is to compel Russian President Vladimir Putin to accept a ceasefire.
