San Francisco is getting closer to selecting its new police chief after a months-long search.
The police commission has narrowed the search to a final few, a short list that is expected to be announced some time after the commission meeting Wednesday night.
Police commission Vice President Kevin Benedicto says the search began months ago after former Chief Bill Scott announced his resignation to take another position in Los Angeles.
