ATLANTA — On Sunday, a group of eight Democratic senators voted with Republicans to allow the Senate to move forward on legislation to reopen and fund the government through Jan. 30.
The deal did not include a guaranteed extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies, which most Democrats including Georgia Sens. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff demanded. It does include an agreement for a mid-December vote on extending the health care tax credits that expire at the end of the year.
On Monday, as Senate lawmakers continued to move toward a final vote, reaction poured in from both sides of the aisle as the House awaits the arrival of the legislation.
