HOUSTON – Houston Texans DE Danielle Hunter has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced today.
Hunter recorded seven tackles (five solo), including a career-high tying 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, four quarterback hits and one forced fumble in Houston's Week 10 victory against Jacksonville. Hunter's 3.5 sacks are tied for the second-most in single game franchise history and he became the first player in franchise history to total at least 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and one forced fumble in the same game. He totaled 1.5 sacks in the fourth quarter, including a half-sack on Jacksonville's final drive to help the Texans clinch their second-largest comeback (19 points) in team history.
