John Legend’s latest tour is ostensibly celebrating the 20th (now 21st) anniversary of his debut album, “Get Lifted.” But it’s actually about much more.
Since that double-platinum arrival near the end of 2024, Legend has become one of pop and R&B’s preeminent creators, a hitmaker for himself and with others, an EGOT with 13 Grammy Awards (and a nomination pending), four Emmys, an Academy Award, a Tony and a Golden Globe. His 10 studio albums include a holiday set and a children’s title, as well as a collaboration with the Roots. He’s been an activist, philanthropist, a winning coach on “The Voice” and, in 2019, People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.
