DELAWARE CO., Ind. (WFIE) - An Indiana deputy was killed Wednesday morning while he was helping a stranded driver.
It happened in Delaware County, which houses Muncie.
Officials say Corporal Blake Reynolds was stopped on I-69.
He was helping with a broken down semi, when officials say he was hit by another semi.
Corporal Reynolds had been with the office since 2022.
“[He] quickly distinguished himself through his hard work, professionalism, and leadership, earning promotion to the rank of Corporal. Before beginning his law enforcement career, he honorably served his country in the Army National Guard. Blake was known for his unwavering dedication to duty, his compassion for others, and his deep commitment to serving the people of Delaware County,” said Chief Deputy Jeff Stanley."
