As the holidays approach and people begin thinking about charitable giving, one small Jackson rescue is hoping for a Christmas miracle.
Two years ago, Cheshire Abbey founder Chrissy Cheshire and fellow rescuer Anne were exhausted. They had set a closing date of Dec. 31, 2023, ready to step away from rescue work after years of physical, emotional, and financial strain. But fate and one scared dog under a deck in Castlewoods had other plans.
“Someone asked us if we wanted a building,” Cheshire said in a recent Facebook post. “I had spent 10 years desperately needing and wanting a building… and now, when we were all set to close?!”
