Those hungering for a follow-up to Adele ’s 30 , released four years ago, might have to wait a little longer: She’s about to spend a good amount of time on a movie set, starring in her first feature film.
As announced early today, the British pop star has been cast in Cry to Heaven , a film adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel. Set to start filming in London in January, the movie also stars Colin Firth, Aaron Taylor-Johnson (most recently in Kraven the Hunter and 28 Years Later ), Owen Cooper, and more, and is currently scheduled for release in late 2026.
Even though Adele has never acted onscreen before (unless you count that cameo as herself in a 2009 episode of Ugly Betty ), the book and movie’s musical motif seems very much in her wheelhouse. Set in the Italian opera
