The Ruler is coming back to Central New York.

Rap legend Slick Rick will perform at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse on Friday, Dec. 12. Doors open at 8 p.m.; the concert will begin at 9.

Tickets are on sale at thewestcotttheater.com . Prices are $40 in advance and $50 on the day of the show; VIP and meet-and-greet packages are also available.

Slick Rick, whose real name is Ricky Martin Lloyd Walters, is a rapper and hip-hop pioneer with songs like “Children’s Story,” “The Show,” “The Ruler’s Back” and “La-Di-Da-Di” (as Ricky D with Doug E. Fresh and the Get Fresh crew). He received a Grammys Lifetime Achievement Award and remains an icon with his British accent, nasally voice, and colorful fashion including his signature eye patch.
