The Health Secretary slammed doctors for 'behaving like a cartel' as those in the British Medical Association (BMA) trade union go on strike.
Wes Streeting launched what could be his strongest attack on doctors yet, as he was searing in his assessment of strikes this week over pay.
He called the industrial action 'morally reprehensible' as other NHS staff, like nurses, are not receiving pay rises. And then he took aim over the timing of the strikes coming as NHS enters winter, its most pressured time.
Speaking at the NHS Providers Conference in Manchester this afternoon (November 12), Mr Streeting told the BMA to 'get real'. He said resident doctors have had a 28.9% pay rise and he had increased training places as well as making offers in areas such as exam fees.
