A heartbroken daughter is making a heartfelt plea for information about her father, who has been missing for over two decades. Stevie Barry, 35, is urging anyone with knowledge of her father, Andrew Barry, to come forward, as she wishes for him to see his grandchildren before it is too late. Andrew, also known as Andy, disappeared in 1997 when Stevie was just eight years old. Since then, she has reached out to police, Interpol, missing persons groups, and even his old friends and former partners in a desperate search for answers. Recent police investigations suggest that Andrew was last heard from in 2012. According to reports, he had remarried in the late 1990s before his disappearance. Stevie, from Weston-super-Mare, shared, "We know that he was in rehab for a while, in Hope House, Weston-super-Mare and may have been in similar centres in Taunton and Cornwall." Stevie has been tirelessly trying to locate her father for years. She stated, "I've been trying to find where he is for years and years, speaking to his old friends, rehab centres where I was asking if they had forwarding addresses." Police records indicate that Andrew registered at a job centre in Taunton around 2002 and made a mental health counselling request in 2004. He was last confirmed to be in Weston-super-Mare in 2012. However, there are no NHS records indicating he is registered with a doctor or has received any prescriptions. Stevie described her father as a charismatic individual, saying, "His friends have told me that he was quite the jack the lad, with the gift of the gab." She also mentioned that he has distinctive tattoos, including one of an ex-wife's face on his back and a skull wearing a hat on his arm. Reflecting on their relationship, she said, "His old friends said he said I was the 'apple of his eye', so it's hard to understand why he would never get back in touch. I feel that if he knew I was looking for him, he would reach out, he would absolutely bend over backwards to get in touch." Stevie expressed her ongoing struggle with the search, stating, "It's always been a thing for me, finding out where he is. Sometimes I wish I could turn it off, but I can't. There must be somebody out there who knows where he is, where he's been, how he is." As Andrew approaches his 63rd birthday, Stevie's concern grows. "I don't even have any idea what he looks like now. My worry is he is homeless somewhere, living on the street, feeling like he can't get in contact or shouldn't. There's no malice on my part - I'm looking for him out of love and hope and good intentions." She added, "I want to know he's okay, that he's well, that he knows he's loved and missed. I'm 35 now and I just need that closure. He's got four grandsons - the eldest is 17, the youngest is just one, and he's missing out on being a grandparent to them. I don't want him to miss out any more time, whatever time he has left." Anyone with information about Andrew Barry is urged to contact Avon and Somerset Police, quoting case number 5225215188, so they can connect with Stevie.
