BEAVER DAM, Wis. — Meta on Wednesday announced plans to build a $1 billion artificial intelligence facility in Beaver Dam.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, along with local leaders, said the new 700,000 square-foot facility is set to increase the number of jobs in the state, as well as achieving LEED Gold certification.
Approximately 1,000 construction jobs would be created to build the data center, reaching a total of 100 full-time employees once completed, according to WEDC Secretary and CEO Sam Rikkers.
This collaboration involves Alliant Energy, Meta, and WEDC. Meta will invest nearly $200 million in energy infrastructure improvements, including network upgrades, utility substations, and transmission lines.
