The Dallas Mavericks did the inevitable Tuesday, firing general manager Nico Harrison .

The move came just over nine months after Harrison spearheaded perhaps the most reviled trade in NBA history , sending superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for aging future hall of fame big man Anthony Davis.

From the day that deal went down, Harrison’s days in Dallas were numbered. It didn’t help him that Davis and nine-time all-star point guard Kyrie Irving both got injured and barely played together and the Mavericks started this season 3-9.

Who is Nico Harrison?

Harrison, 52, was born in Seattle and played college basketball for the Army Black Knights and Montana State Bobcats before playing professionally overseas in Europe, Japan and Lebanon.
