HARRISBURG, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - For many students, school meals may be their most reliable food source, especially with tighter budgets and reduced SNAP benefits.
The Harrisburg School District has grown by over 11% and now serves nearly 6,400 students, increasing the need for meal assistance.
In response to the rising need, the district created the HSD Angel Fund to ensure every student has access to nutritious meals, regardless of their circumstances.
Hungry Hearts recently pledged to match up to $25,000 raised through the Angel Fund, doubling the impact of every community donation.
Krav’n in Sioux Falls will be hosting a community event on Monday, December 8, donating 10% of all dine-in and takeout sales throughout the day to Hungry Hearts to directly benefit Harrisburg School
