It was a close in the first half, but Alabama State football pulled clear in the final two quarters of Week 11's 42-24 win over Texas Southern on Nov. 8 at ASU Stadium. Impressive because the Hornets were without starting quarterback Andrew Body.

Body injured his right shoulder in Week 10's win over Prairie View A&M after a dive into the end zone during the second quarter. Body sprinted to the sidelines after the score and into the medical tent. After halftime, Body was seen on the sidelines without his shoulder pads and his arm in a sling.

Te'Sean Smoot was given the green light to be Alabama State's starter in Week 11 and did a commendable job in place of Body, completing 69% of his passes for 215 yards and one passing touchdown.
