ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - A 36-year-old Elkhart man is facing multiple charges after police say he was arrested last week for having child ex abuse material in his possession.

Elkhart police say they received a tip of possible child sex abuse material connected with an IP address in the city. The tip reportedly included videos and images containing children that appeared to be 12 years old or younger.

Police say they arrested William Heckaman last Thursday, Nov. 6, while serving a search warrant at a home on S. Elkhart Avenue.

The Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office subsequently has since charged Heckman with four felony counts of possession of child sex abuse material.

Police say he was released from jail after posting bond, which was set at $35,000 surety.
