We now have a pair of vacant NFL head coaching jobs after the New York Giants fired Brian Daboll, and that means there's going to be some Bill Belichick speculation.

The legendary former New England Patriots and current North Carolina coach hasn't exactly had a smooth Year 1 in Chapel Hill, but it's long been rumored that he would jump at the opportunity to return to the NFL. Belichick has specific ties to the opening in New York, where he served as an assistant coach for more than a decade from 1979-90, primarily under Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells.

Could Belichick have an interest in a return to the NFL and the Giants? Perhaps, but if he is, you aren't going to hear it from him. Belichick briefly addressed that speculation on Tuesday as only he could.

"Getting ready for Wake Forest, that's all I got this week," Belichick said Tuesday, per ESPN's Andrea Adelson.

Well, there you have it.

It's unclear if Belichick would be a target in NFL searches this coming offseason. Though he has received interest since his firing in New England, he's currently just 4-5 in his first season with the Tar Heels. It's fair to wonder if the shine has come off the 73-year-old.

Still, the NFL rumors can't be ignored, and if a professional team wants him this offseason, UNC could be conducting its second coaching search in as many years.
