DES MOINES, Iowa —
Polk County Supervisor Matt McCoy announced his plan to seek reelection in 2026.
McCoy represents District 1. The area covers southwest Des Moines, West Des Moines, Clive and Windsor Heights.
McCoy was first elected to the board in 2018. He has also served as the chair of the board since January .
“Polk County is on the move. Our individual cities and townships are growing, job creation and new housing stock continues to increase,” McCoy said in a news release announcing his candidacy. “Despite challenges that most growing metros face, Polk County continues to address our needs working in collaboration with all our local partners both public and private.”
