A report from NTSB on the last moments before a fatal plane crash on Oct. 13 was released.
The report shows that the pilot was cleared to land again at New Bedford's airport, but the pilot does not explain why.
DARTMOUTH — Moments before the fatal plane crash on Interstate 195 on Oct. 13, the pilot told air traffic control he “should be OK” to re-land at New Bedford Regional Airport.
Thomas Perkins, 68, was flying the plane with his wife, Agatha, 66, as passenger from New Bedford Regional Airport to Kenosha Regional Airport in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They had taken off at 8:05 a.m.
Perkins told the air traffic controller “shortly after departure” that he was returning to the airport, according to the National Transportation Safety Board’s preliminary accident report .
