The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the deal to re-open the federal government around 8 p.m. tonight, Nov. 12, according to Fifth District Congressman Tim Walberg .
It has been 42 days since the government shut down to do disagreements on the federal level about funding the government. Congress failed to pass a continuing resolution or full appropriations bill to cover expenditures.
The new deal, which passed the Senate on Monday, is a funding package that will keep most government agencies funded through January. It also includes a promise that there will be a vote on Affordable Care Act subsidies in December. The subsidies are set to expire at the end of the year.
