DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind — A Delaware County sheriff's corporal was killed in a crash on Interstate 69 early Wednesday morning, police said.
The crash was reported shortly around 3:45 a.m. Nov. 12 along northbound I-69 at the 247 mile-marker, near Gaston.
A release from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office said preliminary information indicated the corporal – later identified by the sheriff's office as Blake Reynolds – was assisting a stranded driver when his patrol car was struck by a northbound semi.
"Despite immediate emergency response efforts, the deputy did not survive his injuries," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
