Jason Smith is on the bus trekking through B.C. for the next 10 days, back in junior hockey as coach of the Edmonton Oil Kings after four years as a Philadelphia Flyers farm team assistant coach in Pennsylvania, where there were no real road trips.
But, the former Edmonton Oilers captain, who has his team riding high, is fine with the six games, which started in Kamloops Tuesday and finishes in Prince George, with stops in Victoria, Vancouver, expansion Penticton and Kelowna along the way.
He’s chill, as Gator was as an Oilers player, too.
