To the Editor:

In the story, “Democrats didn’t expect to win Onondaga County Legislature: ‘Now we have to govern. Holy cow!’ ” (Nov.7, 2025), Onondaga County Legislator Charles Garland said he wants more transparency about private donors who are filling in a funding gap.

Isn’t it just a little late for Garland to be concerned in any way about who is helping to fund the aquarium? After all, he gave the final vote needed to County Executive Ryan McMahon so he could go ahead with that abomination/albatross/overspending called an aquarium, instead of using it for things that would actually profit the people of the Syracuse area.
