ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) -A woman who Pendleton police say helped cover up her roommate’s murder was denied bond a second time on Wednesday.
Victoria Tippett is charged with accessory after the fact and obstruction of justice for allegedly helping destroy the body of 20-year-old Jessica Barnes last year.
Officers said Barnes was strangled by her husband, Brandon Barnes. Tippett and Kendall Mims helped take her body to the location near Lake Hartwell where it was burned, according to investigators.
Tippett appeared in circuit court for a bond hearing in April, where the state argued that Tippett is a danger to the community and a flight risk. The judge denied her motion for bond but granted her leave to re-file six months later.
