PORTLAND, Ore. — A man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection to an assault that turned fatal at a video lottery store in Gresham.

On Nov. 6, Gresham police officers responded to a report of two people fighting at the establishment near Southeast 182nd Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard. When they arrived, officers found 35-year-old David Lomas unconscious in the parking lot, police said.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Lomas was pronounced dead. An autopsy determined he died of blunt force trauma.

Detectives later learned that Lomas had gotten into a fight with 35-year-old Richard Henderson moments before he collapsed. Henderson was taken into custody at his residence near Southeast Vista Avenue. He is facing charges for second-degree manslaughter, police said.
