During an appearance on “The View” on Tuesday, Sen. John Fetterman defended his anti-shutdown stance and his role as one of eight Democratic senators who voted with Republicans on a deal to end it.
“When you’re confronting mass chaos, I don’t think you should respond with more chaos or fight with more chaos,” said Fetterman. “We need to be the party of order and logic. … I refuse to weaponize the SNAP benefit for 42 million Americans.”
Fetterman, whose memoir “Unfettered” was released Tuesday , and the other Democratic senators have come under heavy criticism from within their party for going along with Republicans without getting any assurances on extending subsidies for those under the Affordable Care Act.
