BOISE, Idaho — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service has issued an update regarding SNAP benefits for Americans amid the federal government shutdown .

In the Gem State, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has stated that in accordance with USDA directives, it will issue funds at a reduced rate in November.

Funds were issued on Friday, Nov. 7, and Idaho households should see funds available on their EBT cards by Wednesday, Nov. 12, according to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

More than 15,000 households in the state had funds issued to them at a reduced rate, which was determined based on federal guidance from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).
