OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Police are investigating whether or not a shots fired incident is linked to a car crash in Owensboro late Tuesday night.

Just before midnight, police say they received multiple reports of gunfire in the 1700 block of Parrish Plaza Drive.

Witnesses told police that several vehicles fled the scene and subsequently crashed nearby.

Deputies with the Davies Co. Sheriff’s Office were the first to arrive and reported finding a wrecked car with an unconscious driver.

Police say they arrived soon after and located the second vehicle and driver.

According to OPD, one of the vehicles was struck multiple times by gunfire.

Officers say while both individuals were severely injured from the crash, neither was struck by gunfire.
