EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Indiana State Police has an all new look.
Wednesday morning, the agency issued the 20 members of the 87th ISP Recruit Academy their first patrol vehicles, with an updated style.
Officials say these probationary troopers just successfully completed their field training and received the keys to their vehicle.
“As these new troopers begin their service, they carry forward a proud tradition of protecting Hoosiers with integrity and courage. The new patrol vehicles are a fitting way to mark this next chapter—honoring our history while equipping the Indiana State Police for the future,” said Indiana Governor Mike Braun.
Superintendent Anthony Scott says although the color scheme is a solute to their past, it’s also a bridge to the future of Indiana State Police.
