KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A months-long murder investigation has resulted in an arrest and filing of murder charges against a Kansas City teenager.
Court documents filed Tuesday in Jackson County charged 19-year-old Martez Madrid Jacoway Jr. with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. The charges are in connection to a deadly shooting on April 17, 2025, that killed 45-year-old Ian Walker.
Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced the charges on Wednesday, noting that detectives used the Automatic License Plate Recognition system to track Jacoway’s vehicle movements and ultimately locate him for an arrest.
