It's possible that the Cavaliers avoided a more serious issue with All-Star guard Darius Garland .
Garland was taken out of the Cavs' Nov. 10 game against the Miami Heat with an injury to his surgically repaired left toe. Imaging and further evaluation revealed it's only a contusion.
Garland will miss the Nov. 12 game in Miami, but the Cavs' main concern will primarily rest with his long-term health. It's possible this was only a minimal scare, based on the update provided by the team.
Garland injured the same big toe last season and was eventually sidelined for part of the team's playoff run. Offseason surgery then cost him the first couple weeks of this regular season.
