The biggest solar flare so far in 2025 means that Rhode Islanders will have another chance to see the northern lights tonight.
Many saw the lights on Nov. 11 when a severe geomagnetic storm made it possible to see the lights as far south as Florida. Tonight, an updated storm watch by NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center issued at about 1 p.m. predicts another severe storm, meaning another chance to see the show on Nov. 12.
