Honolulu police have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of 55-year-old Jonnaven Monalim, a former government informant whose body was found last week in Waipio.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant Tuesday for on suspicion of second-degree murder, according to the Honolulu Police Department. The warrant set bail at $1 million.

Luke was taken into custody around 8 a.m. today in Waipahu by the department’s Strategic Enforcement Detail, with assistance from District 3’s Crime Reduction Unit, police said. The Department of the Prosecuting Attorney is reviewing the case, and charges are pending.

Monalim’s body was discovered around 11:15 p.m. Friday in Waipio, two days after his family reported him missing. He was last seen leaving his Kapolei home on Ae Street at about 7:13 p.
