Ruby Rose, the Australian actor and former star of “Batwoman,” is claiming Sydney Sweeney’s casting and persona are the reasons for why the new boxing biopic “Christy” had a rough start at the box office.

“Christy” landed in 13th place for worst box office openings among films released in at least 2,000 theaters, according to Box Office Mojo . The film was released at 2,011 theaters nationwide, earning just $1.3 million, which is around $647 per theater.

On Monday, the actor took to Threads blaming Sweeney for the film’s lack of success, revealing Rose was initially set to star.
