GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - More than 10,000 children headed to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena for the Swamp Rabbits’ School Day hockey game against Florida.
An all-time franchise record was set for single-game attendance with 10,852 people at the game.
For many students, this was their first introduction to the sport. The special event featured STEM opportunities for students to learn, including the science of hockey.
Learning from the game
Hockey players said there is a lot to learn from the game, including the importance of teamwork, communication and humility. They said it’s not uncommon to come home after practice or a game with injuries.
