EAST LANSING — Michigan State University and the NCAA reached a negotiated resolution for recruiting violations during former football coach Mel Tucker’s tenure. The punishment includes three years of probation and vacated all wins from 2022 to 2024. Michigan State announced the negotiation Wednesday afternoon. According to the NCAA’s report, the University agreed former staffers arranged for impermissible recruiting inducements, benefits and unofficial visit expenses, along with impermissible contact with recruits.
The NCAA’s Committee on Infractions imposed penalties of three years probation, a $30,000 fine plus 1.5% of the football budget, and the vacation of 14 wins over the course of those three seasons.
