Super Bowl champion and former Cleveland Browns great Bernie Kosar said he underwent “two aggressive procedures” to stop internal bleeding while he waits for a liver transplant that has been delayed, according to a story on ESPN .
In a video posted on X , Kosar, 61, said he was set to get a liver transplant last weekend but that it had to be delayed because of an infection.
Kosar announced in a July 2024 story in Cleveland Magazine he had been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and Parkinson's disease.
According to the story, Kosar, had been on the list for a liver transplant since the beginning of the year.
It’s the first and second of three planned procedures.
"I could really use your love, support and actual prayers today," Kosar said in the video while in a hospital bed.
