On Wednesday, Dallas City Council restored funds to Dallas Black Dance Theatre after a cut was made from the company last year.

The dance company will receive $225,000 in funding for cultural programming.

Last December, council members voted to cut funding from the dance company after it reached a $560,000 settlement with the National Labor Relations Board. The agency found merit to dozens of unfair labor practice charges against the company, including the firing of dancers for union efforts.

In March, DBDT formed an advisory stakeholder taskforce to review the company’s policies, governance and engagement with employees.
