JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said Wednesday it is too soon to make any decisions about rookie Travis Hunter’s long-term future as a two-way player.
Hunter, who has contributed as both a wide receiver and cornerback this season, underwent surgery Tuesday in Dallas to repair the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee.
Coen confirmed Wednesday that Hunter is already back in Jacksonville and will begin his rehab process at the team facility.
The Jaguars plan to evaluate how they used Hunter during his seven games before the injury once the offseason begins. Coen said it’s “premature” to determine whether Hunter will eventually settle in as the team’s No. 1 receiver, top cornerback, or continue playing both roles.
