Emmerdale star Sally Dexter has shared the heartbreaking loss she suffered last year that made her return to the show even more poignant.

Fans of the ITV soap hailed her reprising the role of Faith Dingle during Wednesday's (November 12) episode as the 'best surprise ever'.

Sally was last seen playing the role of Faith in emotional scenes back in 2022, five years after her original return to the role.

Her exit storyline saw the Dingle matriarch given the devastating news that her cancer was back and that it was terminal. She then endeavoured to make the most of the time she has left with no treatment, before she devastatingly decided to take her own life.
