After 14 years at the helm, Olivier Rousteing parted ways with Balmain as creative director. A week later, the fabled French fashion house (founded in 1945 by Pierre Balmain) has appointed Antonin Tron as Rousteing’s successor. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Tron worked at Louis Vuitton and Givenchy before establishing Atelin (the Paris-based fashion label he founded in 2016). Also on the French designer’s resume are stints at Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, and Balenciaga. “I am deeply honoured to be joining Balmain, and grateful to Mr. Rachid and Matteo for entrusting me with this extraordinary House,” said a statement. Tron is set to present his debut collection for Balmain in March 2026, as part of the Fall 2026 Paris Fashion Week festivities.
