Thousands of Google users reported problems accessing Google Workspace services on Wednesday, including Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides, according to the website Downdetector, which tracks user outage reports.
Google acknowledged the incident on its Workspace Status Dashboard, stating the outage began at around 12 p.m. EST (9 a.m. PST. The company said in multiple updates that the outage was persisting and that the engineering team was investigating the issue. It did not provide an estimated time for the outage to be fixed.
Some customers encountered SSL errors, such as "This site can't provide a secure connection / ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR," when accessing Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google Docs, according to Google's status page.
