HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - No charges will be filed after a shooting among family members that left one man dead, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Late the night of November 11, 2025, deputies were called about a shooting victim at a home on Sand Stone Court in Axton.

Deputies found Ronald W. McGugan, 46, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the shooting followed an argument with family members.

Evidence from the scene and witness interviews led investigators to consult with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, and based on the evidence, no charges will be filed in this incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
